Professional Grout Repair & Regrouting

When grout cracks, crumbles or goes missing, water can get behind the tile and cause damage. Overturf's repairs damaged grout, regrouts worn sections and color seals grout in showers, on floors and on backsplashes in Sarasota, Bradenton and nearby communities. Your home is too valuable for guesswork.

When Grout Needs Repair

Cleaning restores grout that is dirty. Repair is for grout that is failing. Call us when you see:

  • Cracks running along or across grout lines

  • Grout that crumbles, feels sandy or washes out when scrubbed

  • Gaps or missing grout between tiles

  • Worn or eroded grout in a shower

  • Grout pulling away where tile meets a wall, tub or cabinet

Our grout repair service covers localized damage: a few failed joints, or one worn shower or small area. If tiles are loose or the damage runs across a whole room, we will tell you before any work begins. Not sure whether your tile needs cleaning, sealing or repair? We will inspect it and tell you honestly.

Our Grout Repair and Regrouting Process

Step 1. Inspection

We walk the area with you, identify the damaged joints and check that the surrounding tile is sound.

Step 2. Protect

We protect corners and furniture in the work area, covering stainless appliances with residue-free tape as needed.

Step 3. Remove

Damaged grout is removed from the affected joints.

Step 4. Clean and dry

The open joints are cleaned so new grout can bond.

Step 5. Regrout

New grout is installed, matched as closely as possible to your existing color.

Step 6. Final walkthrough

We inspect the finished work with you before we leave.

Grout Repair, Color Sealing and Cleaning

Grout Repair and Regrouting

Repair replaces grout that is cracked, crumbling or missing. It is the right choice when grout is damaged, not just dirty. We remove the damaged joints, clean them and install new grout matched as closely as possible to your existing color.

Grout Color Sealing

Color sealing applies a tinted sealer to your grout lines for an even, uniform color. It suits grout that is sound but stained or uneven in color, and it helps newly repaired grout blend in with the grout around it.

Tile and Grout Cleaning

When grout is sound but dirty, dull or dingy, our 9-step tile and grout cleaning brings it back. We finish with a clear grout sealer that forms a barrier against moisture, stains and embedded dirt, making daily upkeep easier.

Grout Repair FAQs

Can damaged grout be repaired without replacing tile

Yes, when the tiles are still firmly bonded. Damaged grout can be removed and replaced on its own. If tiles are loose or cracked, we will tell you before any work begins.

Do you repair shower grout?

Yes. We repair damaged shower grout and can recaulk the shower's corners and seams in the same visit.

How long before the area can be used?

It depends on the grout and sealer used. Your technician will tell you when the area can be walked on and when a shower can get wet before leaving.

What is grout color sealing?

Grout color sealing applies a specially formulated colorant to existing grout. It bonds to the grout, gives the lines a consistent color, and helps protect them from future staining. It’s a good option when grout is still in good condition but has discoloration that cleaning can’t fully remove. You can keep a similar color or choose a new one.

Why grout cracks in Southwest Florida homes

Most homes here are built slab-on-grade, and the slab moves with heat, dry-season shrinkage and summer rain. Grout is rigid, so it cracks first. New construction settles in its first few years, older Bradenton homes often carry decades of patch jobs, and fine beach sand tracked in from Siesta Key, Anna Maria Island and the Venice beaches wears joints down below the tile edge.

In seasonal Venice and Nokomis homes, a shower or lanai closed up through the summer can come back with grout softened by months of trapped moisture.

What we inspect before we start

  • Stone type and finish: polished, honed or tumbled

  • Any existing sealer, and whether it has failed

  • Etching, staining and the condition of the pores

  • Grout and joint condition

  • Whether the installation is interior, wet-area or exterior, since each needs a different process

Longer Rug Life

Professional rug cleaning helps extend the life of intricate and valuable rugs by removing the abrasive dirt, sand, and residue that wear down fibers over time. Because rugs can be delicate, having them cleaned by trained specialists using the right methods and materials reduces the risk of color bleeding, shrinking, or damage, so you can enjoy their beauty and character for years.
